1. Who we are

Remotify ("we", "us", "our") is an India-focused offshore talent marketplace connecting skilled professionals with global employers. Our registered office is in India. You can reach us at privacy@remotify.in.

2. What data we collect

We collect data you provide directly and data generated through your use of the platform:

• Account data: name, email address, password (hashed), and authentication method (email or Google OAuth).
• Profile data: phone number, city, state, current job title, years of experience, skills, LinkedIn URL, portfolio URL.
• Resume / CV: uploaded documents stored securely in Supabase Storage.
• Application data: roles you apply to, application status updates.
• Usage data: pages visited, clicks, and interactions — collected via standard server logs and analytics.
• Communications: emails you send to us and any support requests.

3. How we use your data

• To create and manage your account.
• To match your profile with relevant job opportunities.
• To share your profile with prospective employers you apply to.
• To send transactional emails (application confirmations, status updates).
• To improve our platform through aggregated, anonymised analytics.
• To comply with legal obligations.

4. Sharing your data

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

• Employers / hiring partners — when you apply to a role, your profile and CV are shared with that employer.
• Service providers — Supabase (database & storage), Vercel (hosting), Resend (transactional email), and Google (OAuth). Each operates under its own privacy policy.
• Legal authorities — when required by applicable law or court order.

5. Data retention

We retain your account and profile data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymise your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate data via your dashboard profile.
• Request deletion of your account and associated data.
• Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies required for authentication and session management. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may prevent you from logging in.

8. Data security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. CVs are stored in private, access-controlled storage buckets. We use Supabase Row Level Security (RLS) to ensure users can only access their own data.

9. Children

Remotify is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has registered, please contact us immediately.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email. Continued use of Remotify after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
